Several women were honored by the Central Westmoreland Chamber of Commerce and Greensburg-based Seton Hill College for their contributions to women in business.

Carol A. Rush, campus executive officer of Penn State New Kensington, received the Seton Hill College Advocacy of Women Award for her work in promoting and supporting women in business.

A surprise recognition was presented to Mary Catherine Motchar, chairperson of the chamber's Business Education and Support Committee, for her recent achievement of being named one of Pennsylvania's Best 50 Women in Business for 2001 and her commitment to the Westmoreland County region.

Other award winners were Ann M. Emmerling, executive director of the Center Against Domestic & Sexual Violence, and Aida Spino, a nurse at Pascal Spino, M.D., both in Westmoreland County.
